What do high or low MPV levels mean?

Doctors perform the mean platelet volume (MPV) blood test on its own or as part of a complete blood count (CBC) test. The results give information on the components of a person’s blood. Platelets prevent bleeding and help wounds heal. Both high and low levels may indicate cancer, anemia, and autoimmune disorders.
